The primary effect of packaging by an automatic packaging machine is deoxygenation, which helps prevent food spoilage. The principle is relatively simple: food spoilage is mainly caused by the activity of microorganisms, and most microorganisms (such as molds and yeasts) require oxygen to survive. Vacuum packaging uses this principle by removing oxygen from inside the packaging bag and the food cells, depriving microorganisms of their living environment. Experiments have shown that when the oxygen concentration inside the packaging bag is ≤1%, the growth and reproduction rate of microorganisms sharply decreases; when the oxygen concentration is ≤0.5%, most microorganisms are inhibited and stop reproducing. (Note: Vacuum packaging cannot inhibit the reproduction of anaerobic bacteria or food spoilage and discoloration caused by enzymatic reactions, so it must be combined with other auxiliary methods such as refrigeration, quick freezing, dehydration, high-temperature sterilization, irradiation sterilization, microwave sterilization, and salting.)
In addition to inhibiting the growth and reproduction of microorganisms, vacuum deoxygenation also plays an important role in preventing food oxidation. Foods containing oils and fats have a large amount of unsaturated fatty acids that oxidize when exposed to oxygen, causing food to become rancid and spoil. Moreover, oxidation causes the loss of vitamins A and C, and unstable substances in food pigments darken due to oxygen exposure. Therefore, deoxygenation effectively prevents food spoilage. 
Vacuum gas-flush packaging, besides having the deoxygenation and preservation functions of vacuum packaging, also provides effects such as pressure resistance, gas barrier, and freshness preservation, which can more effectively maintain the original color, aroma, taste, shape, and nutritional value of food for a long time. Oil pollution, insufficient or too thin oil: clean the vacuum pump and replace with new vacuum pump oil; suction time too short: extend suction time; suction filter blockage: clean or replace the exhaust filter; air leaks: after vacuuming, turn off the power and check the solenoid valve, pipe joints, vacuum pump intake valve, and sealing gasket around the working chamber for leaks. Vacuum pump coupling wear or breakage: replace; exhaust filter blockage or incorrect installation: clean or replace the exhaust filter and install correctly; air leaks: check if the solenoid valve leaks and eliminate it. Suction valve O-ring fallen off: pull off the vacuum tube on the pump nozzle, remove the suction nozzle, take out the spring and suction valve, gently stretch the O-ring several times, reinsert it into the groove, and reinstall; vane wear: replace the vane. Oil return valve blockage: remove the oil return valve and clean it (see manual); oil window looseness: after draining oil, remove the oil window and wrap it with PTFE tape or thin plastic film.
